Prescription: 750 Years Recuperation

Honestly, it is going to take 750 years to recover from the long struggle to reach the Moon.

Please, people, do not fight more than necessary.

That long struggle for the Moon began before life emerged from the Oceans, when ancient octopuses and other neural and  chordate animals swam and anticipated in the ebb and flow of Moon-driven tides.  Progress toward the goal of reaching the Moon became significant when animals emerged onto land, and sensed the Moon apart from the waters.  That was hundreds of millions of years before England emerged from the seas west of Russia.

Attaining the Moon, whatever it was - whether it was full of predators, prey, false or true beings of any kind, gods or demons or space monsters, gardens or forests or seas - was an instinct during the passage of at least three complete orbits of the Solar System and Earth around the Milky Way galaxy.  As an instinct, it was a part of every pounce on prey, and so was embedded deep in the savage zero-sum win-or-lose predation that characterized all carnivorous competition.

The first constructions were by marine animals, and included diatoms and corals.  Instinct did not plan, and it did not even grope for goals other than food or mates. That's why corals never even attained the dreams which arose from being drawn back and forth by the Moon, though they did leave recognizable vestiges in layers of their limestone skeletons.

The final (because successful) venture to reach the Moon did not consists of adaptation of form, but emerged from artificial constructions. The first durable constructions were of stone- usually carved stone, because the natural forms of rock simply collapsed into rocky earth and did not remain recognizable as artificial constructions.  Carved stone-at first, often the soft sandstone-were those most likely to remain recognizable as constructions by living beings.  That began between five and ten thousand years ago, and the exact date is not important.

Relative approximate dates are extremely important in understanding the world's position now.   That's because they indicate which of the several celestial spheres, all of which have to do at different time rates with great ephemeral cycles, were those most nearly timing the developments.   The fact that serious rational progress-progress by measured and planned actions- did not occur until three galactic cycles had passed, meant that rational activity had to be accomplished on shorter time scales.   These would have to be determined by the establishment of constructions which would endure.  The Pyramids were deliberately constructed, with specific angles having to do with positions of various stars and of the Milky Way Galaxy's dazzling Galactic Center.

Little else mattered than that those pyramids were three in number-so that whatever progress was made in the future, it would have to begin knowing that counting had already begun; -that the angle between the Galaxy and the Ecliptic was already known and thus being taken into account; and that the pyramids were constructed by human beings and were obviously designed to be durable.  The project was open ended and it was declared, its execution had already been put into effect and it would continue until its goal was met. Their size meant that it was intended to be an eternal world goal.

Sad thing is, they did not place any limit on the competition at all, since no such limit was known. Because of that, it was far easier than it should have been, to fall into zero sum, predator-prey competition, and that meant forced labor and war were among the norms accepted by the early planners of the Moon Projects.

The actual flights to the Moon demonstrated clearly that it was never necessary to deliberately kill anybody to fly beyond the atmosphere and to the Moon, then bring them back.  It could not be avoided that some would be lost in accidents, and the astronauts lost are carefully remembered.   Those losses to accidents are thought to have been unnecessary. What is clear is that in principle it was never necessary to go to war to reach the Moon, yet the Earth's people did war among themselves, and many were lost.  More war now, in the aftermath of the successful flights to the Moon, is not desired by anybody.

The important fact is that the Moon actually was reached.  An implication which slowly comes into mind is that it will take three of the relevant time domains to come for the Earth to return to peace, health and normalcy.  If the galactic rotation had failed, then the next shorter time domains which are nonetheless longer than previously calculated are probably important.  The discovery of the planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto did the trick.  That's the order proceeding outward from the Sun.

Since 1975 is over 35 years in the past, Jupiter is a good example of a heavy, outer, important planet that has gone round the sun three times since the end of the manned Apollo Moon Project, with its highly successful flights, landings, exploration by men, and safe return to Earth.  That interval ended three orbits of the great planet Jupiter around the Sun since the Moon flights.  Jupiter is one of the heavyweights of the Solar System and was well known to the ancients.

The passage of more than thirty years means that Saturn has gone round the Sun one complete orbit already.  Many people alive today will be alive in 2065, when Saturn completes three of its powerfully influential orbits around the Sun (and Earth's entire orbit) - since the completion of the Apollo moon flights.  If the world can just wait until 2065 before another significant war, it will permit much better and more comprehensive agreement throughout the world under that ancient, well known planet as well.

The orbital periods of these planets are the basis for estimates of the time required for tetrapodal species like mankind to come to quiescence and tranquility. The longest, Pluto, orbits the Earth and Sun in 248 years; Neptune orbits in 165 years, and Uranus orbits us in 84 years.  That order is inward from the stars.  I used it here because this reasoning process either approaches the entire problem from a transfinite view, exterior objects first, then visible stars which are all in the Milky Way, then planets, and then Earth', or often in the reverse order, Earth first, then planets, then stars and then exterior universe.

The estimate is based on a common conventional calculation, that three such intervals will bring a system so near to quiescence that remaining fluctuations are typically exceeded by other factors entirely.

This results (248*3=744 years for Pluto; 165*3= 495 for Neptune, and 85*3=255 for Uranus) are more useful in the secular temporal domain when rounded off to 750, 500 and 250 years.

In calendar order, the years in the future when these intervals that will mark the returning to peace, for the three invisible outer planets, are

2250 A.D. will mark the Uranian peace;
2500 A.D  will mark the Neptunian peace; and
2750 A.D. will mark the Plutonian peace.

The moral of the story is, don't expect too much peace from your neighbor, or more than he can bear, until he is reassured about the past, and the event of successful attainment of the Moon, and the future-that it is not the past, and that Peace is possible.

Neither should thou lose faith, nor attempt hurry to the stars.  They are a far different, greater and more distant goal than the Moon, and even much different, greater and more distant that Mars or any of the other planets.  The stars a a very different thing-a different goal, a different dream, and a different future.

THINK CAREFULLY. WHAT HAPPENED?.

The world's need for careful reasoning by young people is gravely important. Many deep errors existed during the last five thousand years. They resulted in immense, tragic wars. Virgin ideas do not inevitably replace ancient errors. It would be nice, but it's not so.

The author suggests some of the problem. My ideas are narrow, hurried and stressed out. Yet they are those prevailing at the turning point, when the world was just beginning to see the most obvious implications of what was found by space flight. I personally remember when the prevailing concept in the Pacific Northwest was flat-earth, and it was darkness. Fortunately, Grandpa had been to China and had been around the round world.

As time passes the most important issues will become clearer, and their good and evil will be more amendable to description. Good decisions made in the first century of this new millennium will be of immense value for thousands of years. Bad or neglected decisions that could have been made earlier could cause incomprehensible suffering again.

Think and communicate about it yourselves.  What is written here is one person's view and must be regarded as isolated.  It's not shallow, but it is almost certainly unique or peculiar.

The deep implications of what is now known about the Nature of the World are gravely important to the future. They need to be understood by more people, through long deliberation, and not alone but in conference and communication with others.

It is not just a problem of preserving at all costs those inured, self-protective empires that, heavily armored, burdened the world with an overemphasis on mortal conflict to solve problems that should have been solved by research.Yet nations of good faith, if the issues are clarified, will be seriously determined to repair even ancient errors that remain.

The Moon was ancient goal. Reaching the Moon always was a deep instinctive goal throughout the history of the World.

Over half a billion years ago octopuses and other animals swam in the tides and were drawn back and forth by the Moon. Later, on land, dinosaurs knew the Moon had gravity, and were drawn by it. Probably, young Archaeopteryx, Pteranodon, Pterodactyl and other early flying creatures which saw the Moon rising as a mountain in the East, had a brief impulse to fly there.

The Moon became an elemental goal with instinct's roots deep in the abyss beyond the continental shelves surrounding the lands of the Earth.

The Moon's gravity is in instinct, and is a part of human procreation. Early Mankind too was gravely drawn to the Moon. Yet life was ignorant of Earth's nature, and so in ignorance, monstrous wars occurred, between periods of rapid enlightenment. Though not a sin, ignorance caused conflict.

In the past, the Earth's people were largely ignorant of its Shape and Nature, and ignorant too of the nature of the Sun and Moon.  The lights in the sky were thought to be gods, or spirits, or heavenly beings.  They were given faces and the names of famous people.  Stories were told and written about how they came to be in the sky.

Within living memory, flight to the Moon eliminated the ignorance, and revealed the truth about the ancient struggle for the Moon.

Thousands of years ago, people throughout the world made decisions to worship anything that moved, to struggle at all cost, build everything they could think of, enslave each other and force each other and themselves to try hard, to get to the Moon. They invented, they colonized, they conquered and sailed and trekked and migrated.

War killed many.  Massive armies and navies conquered cities and nations and waged war against each other.  Five, maybe eight thousand years of war.  What inspires war is abstracted inanimate reasoning detached from human emotion, collective consciousness, and substantial, agreeable opinions.  Heidegger wrote like that.

For some distorted reasoning, Germany manufactured three thousand V-2 rockets in concealed slave labor camps in which thousands of people died during the last phase of that Saturnian period from 1914 to 1945.  Why 3,000?  Evidently that number came from another millennium, the monstrously misconceived Third Reich.  Saturn is again approaching the Galactic Center.  Fortunately, Neptune is past the GC.  The really critical time is when Neptune is approaching the GC, which it will do around 2085.

Do not make the mistake of thinking that kind of slow ignorant brutal stupidity no longer exists.  It could make this new century, in which a happy and legitimate triumphant knowledge of the Earth from Space should be the rightful supreme understanding of the World, into a colossal, unnecessary tragedy.  The new century could be subverted into some weird, stupid, cruel and brutal attempt to reach the stars by the end of the century, or by the year 3,000.

There are signs of that kind of enslavement, which happen around the periphery of economic factors. FEMA camps for instance.  If a part of some nobly enthused primordial intent to war, they might have been called by the internet attention they received.

The sudden emergence of a vast coal transport industry, shipping coal to Asia from inland states like Montana, reminds one of the Ruhr Valley Coal industry in Germany.  Why coal?  Coal is carbon. To some, carbon is diamond.  Having the ultimate diamond over a nation that can be disgraced by goading it into inhuman war will ensure supremacy for the nation hoarding the virtue.

The almost rabid production of consumer products by engine driven automatic machinery, with little care to ensure that the products are good and NOT evil or good and NOT bad, but instead, creating good and bad, good and junk products alike, just so long as they can be sold to anybody, to people with the brains of a Teddy Bear, is fascist.  The sudden "positive law" legal sanctification of high risk activities normally tolerated under discretion, is another.

But these descriptions, complicated and derived from observations within the crisis, are from one person alone.  The factors need scrutiny by millions of people using swarm intelligence.

In the final century of the struggle for the Moon, before it was successful, hundreds of millions of living human beings had died by murder in death camps or violence in wars.

The Moon inspired the flights to land on it.  It has not only thin air.  It has no significant air. Reaching the Moon, though, was a goal inspired by the Moon.  Its pursuit brought dreams of reaching the Sun, of the wandering planets and the stars became conscious parts of the dreams of flight.

Along the way it was discovered that Earth's atmosphere actually is thin, so thin that greedy people can and do ruinously exploit and monopolize breath. Now, breath is precious, like gold or precious gems.

The thin atmosphere made the idea important that Earth's air is rapidly vanishing into space.  This false scarcity of the vitally important air is now used to enslave people into struggling too rapidly and ferociously to attain, now, the other planets and beyond the solar system, the exceedingly distant stars.

Speculation about the stars is exploitive in its extremes.  Earth needs rest from exploitation.  In truth, Earth needs a rest from the ruthless, cruel ferocity of war, mortal competition and hectic money-driven ruthless economies designed to exploit all, for money profits.

Money is a medium of distribution, not merely of exchange.  As a means of exchange it is easily monopolized by simply refusing to exchange it further.

Fictions about space monsters abound in literature dating back to ancient Rome.  Fictions about other worlds being inhabited by monsters, fabulously advanced space aliens, or by other people came to have almost dominant influence over common sense about the stars. Even the government sanctions fantastic stories about horrible creatures coming (from England?) through wormholes in the Defense Departments Cheyenne Mountain strategic bomb shelter.  War of the Worlds, used to terrify innocent people in New Jersey, was written by an Englishman.  Now, with the immense spectacles of science fiction presented by Hollywood, dreams dominate the media. It smacks of a ruthless fascist regime bent on going to the stars RIGHT NOW, immediately, or war.

Dreams of flying to other stars, finding lovely habitable worlds there to which people could fly, came also to dominate the press and the media-and dominate otherwise responsible government opinions as well.  Yet they have in the past resulted in death camps.

MOST of all, the pitiless ideas about what lies beyond the moon are unscrupulously and aggressively used by filthy rich capitalist pigs to make nothing but profit for themselves, even if it costs more hundreds of millions of lives in FEMA camps or enslaves people to neurotically driven hyped up lives of numbing eternal competition that makes no sense to the instincts of the natural human being.  Capitalists COULD present much better, morally sober, prudent and wise leadership for the Earth's people.  Although a number of them do, many do not.

Instead, fear that air and water will run out, is used as a whip.  Yet air and water will be abundant far more than thousands of years.  The truth is, Earth's air and water will be abundant for millions of years, possibly billions. If it is kept clean and viable by wildlife, that is.

Even in principle it is not known whether flight to the stars ever will take place.  Among the scenarios of existing physical laws, some indicate that flight to the stars could be totally impossible.

The most important factors are to understand what is actually accomplished, and to winnow those parts which are good and should be preserved, and separated from the chaff.  The time, place, energy, money, activity, lives and futures of the world's people and the good they do and create, must be separated from the reckless, destructive and frivolous junk and garbage, from the pollution and valueless products are evils.

This is not the time to create war, even if the pretended goal is going to the stars, or even if the concealed goal is to disgrace all but the leading sovereign monarch of the world

Who can say what products are evils, if they are new?  Everybody knows the experience of opening a nifty package that can be used for something, to find in it a badly designed product that fails or worse, injures.
After all, in nature, poisonous insects and disease germs are born new, which are sometimes called evil.
These compete in a zero sum, one-on-one, predator-prey way-the same way business competes today.
Business is symbolic battle to the death, vaguely facilitated with the utility of money and scarcely less distressing.

The world's population must be moderated. It is not debatable.  It is starving.  Strong measures to do this will be unavoidable, or avoidable only at the cost of shirking a problem which becomes worse each day it is avoided.  Nothing can be done about it except to face the difficult problems of which it consists.  China made some tough decisions and imposed what some thought was a hard line, yet many people today in China are comfortable with it and say it was necessary and the path they chose was not the worst.

Now there is considerably more peace and the Moon actually has human footprints on it. This great change brings about the opportunity to care for the world and planet, now known in truth to be the round blue home of all human life.  Earth is certain to be the only home world for all life as we know it for many generations to come.  Perhaps a few low order organisms, like organic molecules, may be discovered in some Moon of Jupiter or Saturn, but it won't be a game changer.

The possibility of extraterrestrial life is important, yet it is a long-run, thousand year issue.  This Earth, now, is what we have to live on, live with, be a part of, take care of, treasure and protect and enjoy.

Yet even in the face of these, the almost violent industrial production which was summoned up at all costs because everything had to be as magnificent and huge as possible, is still running recklessly full speed ahead as if it had not got word that the Moon was attained; that men flew to the Moon and walked on it and photographed Earth from that pale night-time orb. This is a difficulty.

Corporations do not want to stop production, for instance, of war materiel, even if war is obsolete. They do not want to stop production of automobiles or airplanes or yachts.  Instead, new products are designed which are often only slight variations from the overabundant previous versions, only, with more sophisticated engines or faster travel or greater size.

It is imagined, falsely, that to stop production of these things is unthinkable, because, it is hoped, this kind of manufacture will stumble upon some secret that can take human beings to the stars if the Earth should become uninhabitable for any reason.

Yet the most likely cause of the Earth becoming uninhabitable, or a less desirable place to inhabit, is the pollution and the organized violent destruction of the beauty of wildlife and nature, to which human beings have adapted more than a million years.

Moderate well designed homes, fewer roads, much smaller population, fewer vehicles, and in the most general way of putting it, a less catastrophic approach to changing the world, and a return to lower energy activities-all these and many more subtle refinements that will be chosen by people as peace returns, are vital to the future of Earth.

It is NOT necessary to continue digging up all the internal minerals of the Earth and transforming them through entropic processes into random forms for the vanishing vestiges of the struggle for the Moon.  It is NOT necessary to continue rapaciously killing all the fish and animals in the seas and on the land, to feed all the people that can possibly be born.

It IS necessary to reduce the world's human population, and stop the production of garbage, and permit the people to take care of the earth locally, because now they can, everywhere, think globally..

In truth, the whole, entire world of planet Earth, and the whole history, economy, civilization and activities of the human population, must be given thought for many generations by people, all the people of the world, who are to be left in peace by the monstrous onslaughts of the fascist mechanized production economy that digs up the earth's minerals, fish and forests as if ravening wolves, or robot dinosaurs run amok in some sort of mechanical pseudo-life.

It is an odd point: some worry that the footprints on the Moon were shoe prints, as if, somehow, that means there were no actual people there.  Yet those who worry complain that some people have no shoes.  They also breathe, and are not denied air.  The shoes are important on the Moon, because no air, and no water either, not in any significant quantity, exist on the Moon.  Nobody without airtight shoes survives on the Moon, and nobody who does not bring his own drinking water lives on the Moon.  I do not know what to make of the need to describe this.

Evilly, some kinds of capitalist exploitation leave the starving, ignorant poor hoping for miracles from the Moon or Mars.  It is true, the aftermath of discovering the actual true nature of the Moon and Mars will help bring, eventually, blessings of peace and abundance and health to the entire world.

But not if we let fascists enslave the world to more of what happened in last centuries, which were conducted in ignorance of the truth revealed by space flight.

So Much War - Another Cenotaph?

Mankind was not cognizant of the depth of the ignorance that, since primordial times, had underlain the existence of live on Earth. It was in those primordial times that the first organisms to respond to the Moon began accumulating concepts of it. Creatures were moved to and fro in the waters; they were brought to the shallows and onto dry land.

No air is out there, sayeth the falling heart.

Eventually, as in fishes and turtles, they laid their eggs near the shore or on land itself. They were drawn by the Moon, and those which had eyes saw the Moon.  Yet they never had a concept that the Moon contained water, or did not contain water.  They did not have a concept that the Moon contained air or did not contain air, or that it would be devastatingly lethal if they were there on the Moon and not here on Earth.

Those stark facts and absences of facts were what passed for instinct.  Concepts liked these spanned all time, until human beings began to make stone tools and use fire in preparation for the actual event of walking on the Moon. Thus each person, on presenting that goal to others, presented a destiny, which they could accept or fight, that by itself would, without air to breathe, inevitably mean deaths.

No wonder so much war attended the civilizations of Earth during the first ten thousand years of their constructions in the events prior to the first actual, successful explorations of space.

A cenotaph is suggested. It would have a base of basalt or other hard mineral containing shells from ancient clams and oysters, corals and sponges and sea stars.  The base would first gradually, then rapidly rise, suggesting the direction of the Moon. Above the ancient base would be layers of subsequent phases in the development of life as it attained greater height. It would have to move quickly from there to the architecture, from pyramids to the wondrous modern forms and machines and to the nobility that triumphed over the primitive, darkness that had dominated the Earth so deeply.

After all, the expertise attained by cruel zero-sum predation was among the skills and capabilities of those who designed and flew the craft that did, finally and triumphantly, attain the Moon.  It is signal that now the intelligence designing space flight is not zero sum competition.

The result is so significant that it is not even possible to regret the vast destruction of war, even while recognizing that in principle, it was never necessary to kill anything, to send machines and human beings to the Moon, and bring the living beings back to Earth safely. It was never necessary to kill a single human being or other living thing, to reach the Moon. It is possible to mourn the loss.  Earth will do that for a long time.

The path of development had been from total ignorance of the lethality of the Moon's vacuum.  It was ignorance sustained through a billion years of cruel  and often carnivorous predation.  During all that time, not a single cell or organism or creature guessed that the seemingly inevitable threat to life came not from opponent or partner, but from the vacuum of space on the Moon's surface where a living being from Earth would inevitably stand because life had decided to go there, or from devastating energy as if crushed by waves against rocky shore.

Those who died trying, in the centuries preceding triumph, did not die in vain, but only in the aftermath of total knowledge is it clear that the carnage was not necessary to the triumph.  A new World Class Cenotaph now should mean a great deal.  It must transcend vast time and distance; the existence of places that are intrinsically lethal, and the depth of instinct in the human soul or it will be regarded as temporal.

Jack and the Bean Rocket

Jack was a poor boy down south; his Daddy was a miner.

Worked hard all day, brought home a little money.

Sometimes there was food, and sometimes there was not.

When there was, it wasn't cuisine.

Not all the meat you could want, though there was hamburger and chicken Mom made into stew and chicken and dumplings.

In case you had not heard, the hamburger was stretched with potatoes and the chicken was stretched with dumplings.

Sometimes meat flavored potatoes and chicken flavored dumplings.

People weren't better then.  That was just the way it was.

When deep fat fryers were new we bought one and used it about three days.

It didn't come with any food but we fell for the ruse that suggested it did, or that suggested your kid would supply that.

We made some doughnuts but they didn't multiply and turn into dollars.

Like that hundred across the street.

Sometimes there was even a little Money.

Jack went to town with his allowance and his parents thought he was going to get some decent clothes and find work.

Jack came home with three rockets. His Father asked, "Jack, what are you going to do with those rockets?

"I'm going to go the Moon, Dad, and fight the Moon men and take back the promised land on the Moon! We'll be rich, Dad! I promise! You'll see.

Jack's father went back to work digging in the mine.

Sometimes when there was no work in the mines, Jack's father worked in the fields planting potatoes, or turnips or squash.

It wasn't exactly a candy machine because when you put a piece of potato into the ground it didn't suddenly turn into a grown up potato and fall out of the bottom.

Jack was one of the lucky ones, especially for a boy named Jack.

There was one Jack got his head blown off in Texas for promising things like that.

Promised a parking lot for Camels on the Moon.

Called it Camelot.

Sad.

Really was.

A President, too.

Our Jack was lucky in that his messing around with rockets got him a job with NASA.

He worked for Werner von Braun who had built rockets for Hitler and bombed London with them so HE knew where the action was.

They were REALLY going to the Moon and take all the promised land back.

Then they were going to Mars, kill all the space alien monsters and take back the canals.

Then there would be lots of water for the potatoes.

Werner had two brothers.

Together they were all known as the Werner Brothers.

It was a Werner Brothers movie.

It worked, by God.

Jack went to the Moon and brought back some Moon rocks.

That was all there was of the land grab.

Jack came home to his aging parents and said, "Dad, you were right.

There is nothing on the Moon but rock and dry dirt.

There is not even any air to breathe or water to drink.

We actually lost weight.

We threw everything disposable away to save weight.

There's a little organic stuff on the Moon now-the latrine package.

But nothing's going to grow there, what with no water and no air".

That's what Jack said.

Jack was a terrible story teller because the only decent language he knew was engineering English.

But it made sort of a story.

Jack still looks forward to the days when people will go to Mars and see if the canals are maybe there after all.

Canals had, after all, been seen through a real telescope by a real astronomer named Schiaparelli, and the government had invested lots of money in Schiaparelli'e telescope.

So it was thought that it had to be proven by human beings because the threat was so real the world is still infested with incomprehensibly destructive murderous weapons.

Of course Mars was far away and so the government sent robots that took pictures and photographed the land for the advertisements for the land rush.

Measured the air and water for the resort ads.

Looked around for the Martians too but there were none in sight.

Maybe they're hiding just beyond that hill.

Or maybe they are some place on Mars where the Mars landers didn't land.

Jack came back to see his even older parents, and said, "Dad, there weren't any Martians.

There are no invaders from Mars and never were.

There never will be.

There's almost no air on Mars either, and even if you compressed it wouldn't be breathable.

There's no water, though there are a few totally dried out stream beds millions of years old because the last water evaporated from Mars before human beings even dreamed of going there.

Maybe before the dinosaurs, the water was gone from Mars.

There's nothing there to live on.

Ever.

Jack was telling the truth.

But only old people know this.

The new Jacks are running around looking at their tablet computers for "beanstalk" and "giant castle" and "pizza".

Some of the others are looking for "employment counseling".

It would be easy to rave insultingly at them, and say, "Some of them are looking for free handouts".

But those who deceived them made them that way.

Those who deceived them forget (VERY conveniently) that few people work in agricultural fields any more because the thousands of years of invention of machines was partly intended to invent machines that would do agricultural labor.

So there are no farm jobs in the numbers that once existed.

There are cooking jobs, but they depend on people who like to dine in restaurants.

So there are many diners who want to do that, and some cooks and restaurant staff.

The diners bring money and pay the restaurant for the food.

That's business.

To those who enslave the young or leave them in ignorance, that's enough explanation, nothing else will mean anything.

To those who understand, millions of people were deceived during thousands of years and those who damn the people now are the same as those who deceived them before.

That it was a half billion year evolutionary goal explains the importance of getting to the Moon.

Yet it should not have been necessary to deceive the people during all that time.

Those who condemn the unemployed now act as if the tax money available to the Nation is their personal property.

It never was even in the first place.

It certainly is not after they pay their taxes.

They have no right to criticize at all if their criticism contains no element of understanding that there are few agricultural jobs, that the labor in housing is also largely supplanted with machines.

When they moderate their damnation with that understanding, their opinions will no longer fall on ears that could not care less what they say otherwise.

There's no place on the Moon or Mars as livable as any place on Earth, even any place on Earth where people rarely live.

There's no place on the Moon or Mars as livable as any place on Earth that NOTHING ever lives.

No place on Mars or the Moon as livable as Antarctica, the middle of the Sahara Desert, or the tops of the Himalayas or the Gobi Desert.

So Jack bought an iPad, and keyed in the instructions for downloading a pizza, and got a picture of a pizza with a map to the nearest Pizza place, but Jack didn't have much money even for that.

It has a calculator and it can multiply, too, but not into more calculators (you cannot eat calculators anyway).

It only produced pictures of the numbers.

Jack's kids don't even know the numbers on their calculators aren't some sort of game, just like the other games that are loaded onto the thing when it is sold.

Those who condemn the people for not working should confess they want to destroy the agricultural equipment so that more people will have to toil in the fields.

Or if that is not true, why not?

It's not Jack's fault that he's ignorant.

The whole world was promising land and conquest in Moon and Mars since thousands of years ago, and most of the people, being carefully uneducated, fell for it.

To be sure, it was important to get to those places and find out for certain.

Until the very last, people were being promised dazzling things like the diamonds at Tiffany's, or the gold in Fort Knox, or slaughtering Klingons and Romulans in battles for the Universe.

None of that was anything but carnival razzmatazz, dazzling vice, come-on's and carnie talk.

It isn't a time for cynicism.

It's a time to face and coordinate many actual but heavily obscured fact.

Facts of which many have been obscured for thousands of years.

The real and actual assessment is, the people alive today are the inheritors of a vast ten thousand year empire of Promise Them Anything but Fly to the Moon deceit.

It was talk that resulted in success yet left the world with generations of mourning for hundreds of millions of human beings killed in unnecessary wars.

There was no way to prevent it or know as the wars were taking place that they were absolutely unnecessary.

Flights to the Moon have been an instinctive migratory goal since before the dinosaurs began.

Even the other planets-Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and invisible Uranus, Neptune and Pluto-have gravity.

If the deceivers are not defeated, the deceits and the enslavement to economic lies will continue forever.

Mars is not yet actually walked on by people who risk their lives to prove that Mars is either not inhabited or inhabited.

Of course when that happens, those who visit Mars and return will prove that the dominant living things on Mars were human beings from Earth.

The once-feared dominance by Martians will be swept into the palatial homes of the rich on Earth.

Then when the Martian fears are been proved false, it will be pretended that space aliens and monsters might exist on the next planet Jupiter.

Panic-inspiring images of space aliens and monsters from Jupiter will flood the Earth through the television.

Monsters from Jupiter will be envisioned that will come to Earth and enslave the people of Earth and turn their children into zombies.

After people return from Jupiter and serve up their images as models of the monarchy powers, the people will know that the dominant living things on Jupiter were people of Earth.

The once-feared dominance will be quickly taken up into power structures and kept in the lavish homes of the wealthy.

It will then be pretended that space aliens and monsters exist, MIGHT exist, COULD exist on Saturn-Saturnian space aliens that will come to Earth and enslave the people and turn their children into zombie bots.

But people will journey to Saturn, and prove there are no Saturnian monsters, no matter what was predicated in the 2001 movie.

And when they return, the much feared power of the Saturnian Aliens will be harvested by the fabulously rich and famous again.

Uranus is next.

The people will be told that Uranian space monster aliens will come to Earth and enslave the people and turn their children into zombies unless Earth people go there in person and prove there are no Uranians.

When the astronauts to Uranus return and bear witness there are no Uranian Space Monsters, the fear and potential from the myth will be swept into the lions and unicorns of power, to defend the opulent castles against Earth people.

It will then be pretend that Pluto must harbor Alien Space Monsters that threaten Earth and Earth people with enslavement to toil and labor and job-hunting in a world that does most everything with automatic machines guided by computers.

So the Pluto project will commence, and people will risk their lives to bring back rocks from Pluto.

When they do, it will be triumphantly proclaimed that Pluto has no life, it is too cold, there are no signs of any living thing.

Although it will be too obvious to say, "There are no space monsters on Pluto after all, too bad, we will just keep the fear you common people were laboring in for ourselves, in our lavish castles and palaces and enclave homes, and you common shirks and lazy people can go get a job" - though too obvious, that is what they will think of the people, again.

Before life began on Earth, the ancient prehistoric seas of Earth were being washed back and forth in tides by the Moon.

The first life that was big enough to be shaped by that motion tried to anticipate the next wave.

The second wave of life enslaved the children of the first.

From then on to now and for a long time to come, Life Was Dreaming of the Moon, or other planets, or the stars.

Even now a new pretense is unfolding-that the Earth's air and water are going to eventually run out and we should all be in an enslaving panic to discover ways to travel to the stars.

Earth's atmosphere and seas might someday vanish, though it won't be for millions and possibly billions of years.

Meanwhile, though, the deceit already exist.

It is pretended that Earth's atmosphere IS vanishing, that some remembered part ALREADY vanished.

The only thing is, it did not disappear from the planet.

The right to breathe air and drink water was stolen and is now in various castles and palaces, powerful mortgages, and other enclaves of the rich.

The only people who should explore space should be people who are not enslaved to fear of space monsters, space aliens, space invaders or returning astronauts pretended by the enslaving classes to be alien threats.

THE THIRD DIMENSION TAKES ENERGY

            THE THIRD DIMENSION TAKES ENERGY

The third millennium will take a more sophisticated understanding of energy than we have yet dreamed. Let's not make more war of it than is absolutely essential.

Seeing smooth round river rocks on Mars, in those dry river beds, brings back memories of some dry spells on Earth. Yet the dry spell on Mars was a death sentence for everything that lived on that planet. The desiccation of Mars was total catastrophe as essentially all the free water on Mars evaporated into the cruel merciless vacuum of space.

That's why interstellar flight is a must do, must have.

We see the thin atmosphere of Earth from mountain tops, airplanes, from orbit and the Moon. We know down deep that it is fragile, and perhaps has a finite lifetime. There is no measure yet of how fast the Earth's fluid environment is disappearing. It may last a hundred million years or more. It may not. It is not disappearing at any measurable rate yet, though techniques for accurate measure of Earth's atmospheric pressure were only recently devised, and statistical records will have to be kept for hundreds or thousands of years, most likely. Or, terribly, we might find the atmosphere is disappearing measurably decade by decade. It is important to know.

That's why interstellar flight is a must do, must have. That's why the discovery, or rather, probably correct inference, that planets exist at other star systems in the Goldilocks zone actually exist. There is hope to plant Earth's concepts of life on other planets at other star systems. And we have not yet given up hope for finding some habitable zones on Mars or other objects in this Star system, the Solar System- though it looks pretty grim. After all, every place on Mars is bleaker and less life supporting than the worst of places on Earth except the spots of volcanic lava here and there on Earth.

We are reminded too, of Mars, by the Grand Canyon and other great eroded valleys. Clearly, water was deeper at some distant time in the past, or the Earth was lower. For instance consider those fossils found in the highlands in England that were believed to have been deposited there when England was under water, before it rose and became dry land. Perhaps that was not what happened at all. Perhaps England was the same height fifty million years ago and the oceans were deeper.

These questions will be given increasingly firm answers as time goes by in future generations among human beings. There is a lot of time, considering the rate of progress of science, chemistry, physics, flight and planetary geology when solutions are sought through organized peaceful cooperation-and corporations or their equivalent, institutes.

On the problem of lift in gravitational fields, some minute progress comes from magnetism, for minute payloads can be levitated a few centimeters. That's like an ancient lizard losing a scale and seeing it waft up into the air by a breeze- it takes a moment to figure just where that scale came from and why it is not where it is supposed to be.

Progress in interstellar propulsion looks bleak too, because the distances are so astonishingly vast. The best we can offer is that expertly controlled fusion and some means of locomotion large distances rapidly in the peculiar sophistication of the interstellar space-time environment will be discovered.

The author believes that the dimensionality of macroscopic space time, like that in which spacecraft, asteroids, planets and stars move, is a two dimensional manifold with a time/frequency domain and relativistically curved space-time around gravitational objects. That's why orbits of planets around stars and other similar systems of loose objects are planar unless energy is introduced from some outside source such as a passing star.

If space is two dimensional then the problem of traveling to another star system is different from the concepts we have of traveling in the three dimensional artificial coordinate systems we devised through assumptions made on the basis of architectural works.

If these ideas are true, then we are constructing three dimensional objects in which two of the dimensions are natural, and the third dimension is a venture into probability space, which always requires extra energy to develop.

We already see considerable extent into the third dimension, in ocean depths, atmospheric depth and mountains on the two dimensional surface of Earth. Life attained three dimensional motion long ago in the oceans and then crawled out on land and stood in the third dimension on legs, eventually flying in all three dimensions as birds. So there is plenty of precedent. It's just that the fundamental rules are slowly emerging now that atomic energy and space flight, cosmology and love have been coordinated.

Just remember that it takes energy to venture into the third dimension. Otherwise we'd not have got past lichens.

Like on Mars.

New Future for Time; New Time for the Future..

More than a billion years of ignorance lies in the archaeology and histories of the past.

These decades, this century, and this millennium are a time of vast change.

During this time, change itself is drawing the world into an endless future that will always different and new.

For thousands of years now, every generation, the world will be new in ways not yet understood at all.

Our actions will be either meticulous, carefully designed and enduring, or crude, awkward, clumsy and brief. Actions very small will be better designed, often on the quantum scale.  It will take a very much longer time for the world to become jaded again.

This whole new millennium should be totally new.  In particular, it must not contain a repeat of the first stupid half of the preceding century.  2012 is an important year because it is the year twelve in the new millennium now immediately following the attainment of space flight.

To the Moon, planets, orbital flight around the Earth, toward the stars - all the space flight is a tremendously big deal for all the planet forever.  Anticipated longer ago than can be remembered, it is changing the destiny of the Earth forever, tangibly, already.

Twelve is the atomic weight of Carbon, the most essential element of life as we know it.  This big event, of the attainment of space flight, is changing the evolutionary patterns of the world in that fundamental element. Its effect, results, and consequences will continue to change the world for millions of years.  Marginally certain ancient species will disappear, and new species will appear and eventually restore a stable balance of life.

Some governments capitalize on carbon-sometimes fiercely.  Diamonds, loved everywhere for their purity and grace, appear in the Crowns of State of many nations.  Diamonds are made of carbon - pure and crystalline element of atomic weight twelve.  It is important in government to be fundamentally certain in the dimensions of time and space.

The huge diamond in the English Crown is a symbol of that importance.  Artificial diamonds, are already that large, are changing the scale of their importance.  The enduring value of diamond will ensure that concepts treasured in diamonds will continue to be treasured.

Other industries, particularly the fossil fuel industries of coal and oil, are of great economic significance and are based on carbon.  Carbon's number twelve marked this year as an important year to the authorities of states and to their people as well as to the carbon budget and the carbon based life forms of Earth's biosphere.

It will be valuable to keep an eye on all these immense factors as the space-era world emerges from half a billion years of relative ignorance.

Despite the relatively constant nature of what it is, the world is only now being discovered for what it truly is, in the accurate measure and photographic clarity of secular reasoning.

Differences throughout the world are diminishing fast and will continue to disappear in the future.  Many of the old causes of war have become insignificant variations in human activity.  Few new causa bella are emerging with great significance, because they are defused even as they precipitate, and they become tractable through tourism and trade.

As peace becomes stronger and justice increases throughout the world, it will become simpler and less costly.  Military traditions will be increasingly on defensive and regulatory, imagining the worst-against which the were, in the past, always required to be prepared.

Militaries may tend to aggravate international differences into conflict even though now, in the self-aware space-flight world.

Those differences are often now being moderated to peaceful communications through new media even as they appear.

Military leaders must be given some consideration in that it is we ourselves who have required them to be prepared at all cost to be ready to defend us at a moment's notice.

Even while peace is becoming more secure and its protections gain in strength, they will be required to lay down their lives on occasion.

We do not need to make those occasions more frequent than necessary.

Nuclear War Potential in the Earth-Sun Barycenter

Nuclear war appears inevitable if the weapons are not dismantled. Probability, action paths and events potential and events realizable are attainable. These are all combinations of material or mass reality, and probability.

This is in a universe consisting of material reality and probability. Except for a multifarious zoo of low probability, relatively faint or obscure phenomena found in the atomic world, the familiar kinds of mass and energy are almost all of existence.

Probability is a dimension in the universe. Probability is deeper wherever mass is great, and tenuous and thin in empty space. It is one of the dimensions involved in the motion of all light-like waves.

Because these waves are found throughout the universe, it is very likely that the dimensionality of light-like waves is identical with the dimensionality of space-time and perhaps of the entire universe.

Variations in dimensionality caused by mass are merely extensions of the dimensionality of light's action. The dimensions of action in light waves are energy, length, length, frequency and the speed of light. These are all strongly interrelated.

Frequency is used as one of the measures of energy. Momentum is another dimension, described in light-like waves, and it is merely a time integral of energy. Conversely, energy is a time derivative of momentum.

The product of momentum and wavelength is the action quantum, and the product of energy and wave time is, similarly, the action quantum. In both cases the action quantum is abbreviated h.

Certain mathematical forms make a fraction, h/(2*pi), useful. That will not be discussed here as it adds unnecessarily to the complexity for this material which deals with the problem of nuclear danger.

Imagine a series of actions in which each step is either an on or off switch, or it is an outcome based on drawing a card or throwing dice. Perhaps twenty or thirty steps are involved in this set of actions.

The steps involved in the switches may be controlled locally, as in the case of thermonuclear weapons where a combination of local settings (for instance with a number of different, responsible officers with specific authorization codes known only to themselves and their superiors which prevent unauthorized persons from launching the weapons systems) to operate the firing signals.

All officers present must agree, and other switches, set by various usually secret means such as radio or other electric signals from higher command centers in other locations, presidential authorization, and so on.

Because the stakes are so high, a great deal of attention, careful design, caution, routine inspection, scrutiny and review goes into the creation and maintenance of such systems. They are carefully guarded, for instance.

Assume these are sober, responsible people of marked and unusual integrity, honor and capability. They are not in question, and not the problem.

Assume that no system under conscious human control in this way is intended to launch accidentally under any circumstances. In other words, it is assumed that these internationally dangerous weapons systems will not be launched without intention and their fail-safe systems operate correctly.

It is asserted here that other factors remain which make these weapons intrinsically dangerous. Human society can be drawn into thermonuclear war if it does not understand the cosmology in which our planet and world exist.

At the outset, let it be understood that each step in the process of detonating any of the weapons is a probability, not an absolutely  certain yes or no decision. On the other hand, it must be admitted that the probabilities involved are very close to 1 and 0. For instance, instead of the probability of a yes being exactly 1, also written 1!, is not exactly that at all.

Instead it is 0.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999.

That's a hundred nines.

The probability of a NO is 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000123.(that and it is a hundred zeroes with some nonzero possibility at the end.

These switches, though they may not pass an error signal in a million years if the universe consisted only of the Earth, are not absolutely perfect. However, the problem is not that the systems might or will fail.

The problem is that the path which their existence IS, is a probability path. In an environment in which all possibilities exist around that path, a path will be found that will cause all the consequences of the path.

For one thing, human society is continually drawn by that existence to consider both possibilities at all times.
Second, in the long term the geophysical barycenter of the Earth Sun system lies within the Sun. As the planet Earth orbits the Sun, in the long run the Sun's sheer, saturating energy literally requires that all possibilities come into play.  All possibilities delineated by the path which the switches represent, are surrounded by the high energy ongoing world-like of the Sun's interior at the barycenter of the Earth-Sun system..

Human beings will be led, one day, to launch the weapons, even if every society on Earth is being angels all the while.  They will be led by the implacable inanimate energies of the Sun itself.

Implacably, somebody will be drawn into being a self-justifying bad guy, and it is not morally possible to exclude any society that keeps such weapons deployed. No matter what we do, we cannot avoid following the Sun around which our planet orbits. The Sun saturates every possible action path with its vast energy, and dwarfs the imagined consequences as well.

Thus, the consequences of thermonuclear war, even such earthly grave consequences as annihilation of  population centers in which millions of human persons live, gradually pale into insignificance before the implacable Sun-driven tendency to activate the switches which launch it.

That implacable character of the Sun's influence on human actions, in relation to the launch sequence of thermonuclear weapons, is the long term as if the four year leap year cycle in sidereal time is the only time base that exists.

No seasons mean anything. Nuclear winter is not distinct from any other time of the year in the barycenter of the Earth-Sun system.

Nuclear weapons exist in the barycenter of the Earth Sun orbital relationship.

On the average, their existence outside the Sun does not register with anything except human beings, who do not control the Sun.

Consider this:  the weapons systems consists of Uranium or Plutonium starter masses. Chemical explosives are to force the masses together to constitute a larger-than-critical mass which then explodes into runaway fission reactions. The fission explosion is surrounded by tritium and lithium masses which constitute fuel for the resulting thermonuclear fusion reactions which constitute the real Big Bang, the actual Big Bang.

Images which equate the Big Bang with the beginning of the entire universe are merely attempting to avoid the reality that the weapons are like a powder keg in a furnace as they orbit the Sun.  This was a strategy in Roman times:  the conquering soldiers told the conquered peoples, "Now, your world began with our Leader."  "For you, the war is over."

Collections of potentially fusing elements such as those which human warriors have assembled are rare in the universe, and in fact exist (so far as is known only on Earth.  Even the very speculation that some might exist on other worlds, at other star systems, is another superstitious invocation of a ridiculously distant, faint, remote, inaccessible and improbably enemy monster, demon or alien.

Consider that the Earth just went through five or ten thousand years of just plain pure hell, starting with sandstone blocks and human energy, to chase the dream of flying to the Moon to determine whether it is a fit place to live, or contains monsters or demons, space aliens or strange animals that will come to Earth and gobble everybody up, or whether Mars, or Venus, or Jupiter or Saturn hold the same possible problems or rewards.

All of life, until about the 16th century A.D.  was full of such superstitious misinterpretations of the light. Animals were not known not to be kings or gods, and the beings on the other side of any significant mountain range were, half the time, considered to be monsters or demons anyway. It was assumed the Earth contained demons, trolls and goblins of various sorts.

Even after the 16th century, when motion pictures were invented they were immediately saturated with fictional images of space monsters and people struggling to save the Earth from alien invasions.

This was the environment in which thermonuclear weapons were created and placed on board rockets that could carry them to any place on Earth on a signal - and the rockets could be directed to any place within moments on a signal. Each would just about guarantee the deaths of millions of people, if the city they hit had that many in it.

Many "modern" weapons have Multiple Independent Retargetable Vehicles - several nuclear weapons which could each hit a different population, industrial or military center.

Presumably, if there was an invasion by space aliens, these could be redirected to destroy several of the mythical creatures.  Imaginary space aliens do keep military budgets rolling in dough.

Just imagine what life would be like if one actually were an innocent space alien. Did you ever hear of an innocent space alien?  "No" replies the military.

It is the military that made the deal with Hollywood that Hollywood could use the North American Air Defense Command Headquarters, nuclear-bomb-proofed under Cheyenne Mountain near Colorado Springs in the Rocky Mountains, as a cinematic filming location for space-alien adventures in which space monsters trying to take over the Earth (with names that sound deliberately like the word "Gold") come through magic portals into the cave from stars millions of light years away somehow.

Perhaps to trigger thermonuclear war.

People who claim that God must be the important thing in determining whether thermonuclear war must take place, fail to take into account that the general human concept of God was refined from the evolved spirituality of the natural world, in which the human species is only one of the species sharing the planet.  It was not until the Egyptian pyramids were three thousand years old that the idea of One God became serious enough to define a Dynasty.  Another thousand passed before the idea became permanently accepted.

Another two thousand years passed to reach the emerging Christian understanding that instead of one God, there should be two, and they would naturally be man and woman, which is to say, that women can be god too, or that half of the two gods can be female, the other of course, male. That's just the human part.

Earth is not the only planet in the Universe. It orbits the star which we call the Sun, Sol, or other similar words depending on which language you know it in.

The daily rotation and the annual orbit are not exactly in phase. Instead, they are about a quarter day off each year, which means that four years pass between the rotations return to the same phase they were in at the beginning of that cycle. That's not alarming and not unusual.

The number of days in the four year cycle is 1461, or 365*4 +1; that too is neither alarming nor suspicious and it is only mentioned because it was useful here to describe the four year Leap Year cycle. 1461 is divisible by three; there are three 487 at use may be made of that is not known; it is an aside illustrating that modern concepts of time are much more accurate and certain than at any time during the past 6 or 8 thousand years.  They are so accurate they can predict the motions and positions of the stars and planets many years in the future.  Centuries, if you must.

This new precise and certain accuracy obviates ancient concepts of chance, chancery, probability and randomness to perfections previously unknown to man.  What remains is the probability distributions that arise from molecular and atomic activity, from the motions of electrons, and from the nature of light-like waves from the most distant parts of the universe.

These new concepts emerged during the past four hundred years, since the discovery of optical telescopes that revealed the existence of moons (then called planets) around Jupiter and Saturn.  They are among the factors that are trying the case of the existence of thermonuclear weapons at all, and the case of possibly irresponsible invention, design and construction of nuclear sources of electrical energy.

That is because the Earth and Sun orbit, together, around a common center of mass called the Earth-Sun barycenter. This is not unusual either, and it is not alarming per se. Every orbiting system does the same thing.

In many systems, where the masses are similar and the objects are far from each other, the barycenter or  common center of mass is between the two objects. In other systems, such as the Earth-Sun system, the barycenter is within the heavier object.

In fact, the Earth-Moon system barycenter is within the Earth because the Moon is smaller than the Earth.

As an aside, what would be the mass relationship if a moon were to orbit a planet, or a planet a star, at such a distance that the barycenter were to be exactly at the surface of the larger object?

Well, the problem is that the barycenter of the set of all thermonuclear weapons and nuclear reactors taken as one object, and the Sun as the other object, is within the Earth.

Yet the barycenter of the Earth-Sun system is within the Sun.

Therefore, the barycenter of the nuclear
energy objects and the Sun, is within the Sun.

Because the Sun is so violently active throughout, that barycenter wherever it is does not resolve the Earth as a perfect or even approximate image at all.

The barycenter of the nuclear materials and the Sun is quite probably diffuse and distinct from other objects constituting the Earth, perhaps being spread out in atomic mass or other factors and certain it is not located at any one point within the Sun.

Instead, it is continually moving deep within the Sun, through the thermonuclear plasma near the center of the Sun.

In the long run, for instance after three decades (one Saturn orbit) or more, the average position of the radioactive nuclear fuel in atomic and thermonuclear weapons is within the Sun, and close to the center of the Sun.

Where almost nothing of interest takes place except fusion reactions such as those discovered by Hans Bethe and Carl von Weizsacker.

These involve the elements Hydrogen, Carbon, Nitrogen and Oxygen of which people and other living beings are made.

The Sun literally drags elements like those within ourselves into a destiny that involves thermonuclear fusion.

We must not let the paths intersect or become confused with an order to launch the existing weapons.

In other words, the action of the Sun tends to draw us through the launch switch sequence, and at each stage either human beings diverge and argue and resolve something that acts as a stopgap reason for ignoring the suggestion to launch the war, or, they move toward the switches, and wondering why, struggle quickly to invent a stronger and more secure switch that people cannot set off.

Yet nobody is actually drawing people though the switch settings-the Sun is drawing the elemental structure of the entire planet through the switch settings.

The Sun is an inanimate prime mover of everything, and yet the results of its motion need not be war.

Another problem is that these images, which are based on the real and actual substantial physical structure of the solar system, rapidly become entangled with cinematic and fictional scenarios such as computer war games like Fallout and others.

Everybody is being inexorably drawn through movie scenarios of exactly what it takes to launch thermonuclear war.

This will continue until either actual thermonuclear war happens, or the whole propaganda, whether it is deliberate or innocent, is ended by sensibility.

And it can be innocent because understanding, of what world lines are in the long secular time of the Earth-Sun barycenter, is not common and prevalent.

Add to this the simple idea that many wars costing hundreds of millions of lives and untold tragedy have already misshaped the destiny of Man.

It is common to say all that loss of life can be called justified by successes that occurred later.

In the last five or ten thousand  years, the sole cause was to attain the Moon.

Despite the tragedy and sacrifice, it was never necessary in all those ten thousand years to kill a single human being in order to fly to the Moon.

That is known, because the eventual, actual flights were accomplished with no more than accidental loss of life, and even that was regretted, and acknowledged to have been preventable.

Remarkably better foresight would have been necessary, even though foresight was already exceedingly competent.

But it is now known that it would have possible to attain the Moon without any loss of life whatsoever.

The argument sounds weak, but is only to say that the marker at the end of the journey is only a little flag, a little strip of cloth.

It is not much and does little except flutter, or be torn apart.

That of course is one of those hundred-zeros scenarios.

It is sufficient to understand that in the next ten thousand year such goals will not require internecine or international war slaughtering millions of living human beings like they are so many gaming chips.

Of course people are willing to risk their lives to attain great goals, yet slaughtering millions on battlefields is little more than an action in which the only outcome was intended to be slaughter, usually in the name of saving the world from some imaginary space alien or other equivalently absolute danger.

If this does not seem to be a problem any more, consider how many will die in unnecessary wars to attain manned space flight to and return from Mars, especially if the Mars manned  exploration missions turn out to have a high safety record.

And then consider how many more will die in wars to attain faster than light travel to other star systems, even though no indication is available even from the most sophisticated theory or practice of modern technology, that faster than light motion is ever to be possible at all.

A Singular Time of Big Simple Facts

A useful way of looking at the present situation of planet Earth is, this several thousand year period of time since the first enduring architectural works were constructed (beginning with naturally shaped stones, eventually using carved stone blocks) is the event in the history and future of planet Earth in which space flight was invented.  Space flight permitted the survey of the nature of the World and of the Solar System.

Important determinations included the fact that what was subjectively known as the World in which human beings (as well as all other known animals and plants) lived, is the surface of a spherical planet which orbits a star.

Another important determination is that no other planet exists in the solar system that contains beings, creatures, or any other kind threat to Earth or its people, houses, farms and gardens, livestock, wild planets and animals, fishes or waters or air.

None of the imaginary gods and demons that were figments of bad dreams and superstition exist in or on planets which have atmospheres. Of course, this determination is still ongoing, although it looks like that will be the eventual totality of the outcome for the planets within the Solar System.  Instead, we have a real atmosphere and real oceans favorable to life in which rational and valuable spirituality can be cultivated in the grace of rational living thought.

Only one real, actual threat was found-collisions with the earth of rocks, of which the largest are called asteroids. These can be powerful and very destructive although their frequency is very low - only one significant asteroid collision per century is anticipated. Millions of small rocks fall as meteorites which only rarely cause any damage.

The event of the emergence of space flight by Earth is likely to be a relatively singular event, in the sense that after the current century, little space flight will occur because of its very great cost and the relatively insignificant rewards.

While a disappointment to adventurers who wanted to range far into distant star systems, it does not look like that kind of space travel is in the works during foreseeable thousands of years.

In any case, it is abiding work that must be considered something of a luxury in the face of pressing factors like population moderation and global health, environmental pollution and other difficult problems.

On the other hand, nothing that ever happened in human history can be proved impossible. Unfortunately that history is composed of both very good and very bad times. It is known that some wars were caused by the struggle to reach the Moon. Some weapons development was inspired by ideas that space monsters might be lurking on the dark side of the Moon, or in Mars or other planets.

Among those industries designed to support space flight for the exploration of the solar system, particularly to answer vital questions regarding the existence or non-existence of dangers from outside planet Earth, the most valuable, vital, sustaining and necessary production for that space flight is beginning to be distinct from the least valuable, most noxious, costly and offensive forms of production

None of ths weapons developed during the emergence of space flight were found useful for any purpose except for killing human beings and other living organisms here on Earth. This does not speak well for the popularity and relative sanctity of those engaged in weapons development. To be sure, it can be argued that they will be safe because they are the ones who have weapons and will use them.

Yet society is composed of many powers besides the power to invent and make weapons, and most of the other powers are engaged in peaceful pursuits, including the pursuit of better ways to get along together well. Judging by the historical record, Earth has a very long future, which can be measured in terms of millions of years and more. Possibly billions.

So we have a billion years (estimates range to 3 billion year) history; the six or seven thousand years of preparation and attainment of space flight, probably a century of busy space flight, and tens of millions of years in the future, during which on the average human society is going to be largely and generally peaceful.

Why not now?

IT IS JUST THE MOON

Prologue

This is the beginning.
Even this beginning is just beginning.
The next forty million years will be different.
That is all we know.

IT IS JUST THE MOON

This is the world of the Moon
This world's people have flown to its moon
The moon.
Look ye and tremble
This is the world that has taken the Moon
This is the world where the Moon has footprints upon it
Of the beings who live on this world
These cities have flown to the Moon.
Look ye, and tremble
Do not fail to fear for those who cannot
Since ages past, have feared that they would not
And ages past, when millions died because they did not
Died knowing that they had not
Attained to the Moon
Fear for them
Fear these great cities for a moment
As if they are a complete surprise
And ye did not know anything about going to the Moon
And ye never knew anything about going to the Moon
And wonder what this city is, so large and big and great and vast and huge
Stupendous
So energetic
How and why is it so vast, so big?
What is it, that is so big and important?
Is it not fearsome?

I saw a snake one time
I had come up on the road
And just as I rose above the grade to see it
There was a snake, crawling across the asphalt of a rural country road
It saw me and I saw it
As soon as we saw each other a car sped by and smashed it flat
Except for its tail
The soul had fled to me in desperation
And I could see the snake's point of view
Could see for a moment with snake eyes

Beyond the horizon was a city
Above the horizon was the spirit light of a tail waving in the sky
Above the city like flexible searchlight beams
Then, I thought it was what the snake imagined the city to be
Now, I know on reflection that I saw with the eyes of the
snake soul, for in my footsteps, I knew where I was going
Wildlife is in the game we play

A distant city across the horizon
The one which was my destination
I had been there before, though the snake had not
The snake tried to rattle its tail
As if it saw a danger there
And saw no danger in dying
And knew no fear in dying
Its soul was not  afraid
Despite the recent experience of being recently killed
The city which I saw with its soul was unknown to it, and strange
It was beyond the horizon that I saw the city from its soul
And it thought, that is the danger
Moments before, the snake had known
no fear of anything  it knew.
And knew no fear of asphalt.

Within a second after it died it still knew no fear
It was not afraid of death at all
It had not feared death for millions of years
But there was fear in the world
About the cities, not because they are so fearsome,
Because they are unknown
What are they? Where did they come from? Why are they here?
"They are here because we built them," a human being can say.
They are here because we reached the Moon.
They emerged because we reached the Moon.
They emerged as soon as we knew we were going to attain the Moon.
And now they are the great nuclei of order and attainment.
And now they celebrate the Moon

The Grateful Dead were grateful and probably knew,
Certainly knew there was gratitude among the Dead
For reaching the Moon
That they sang and celebrated
It is not usual that we fear in our hearts for what the dead might think.
Yet we should
Sometimes
One has to be conscious
Of one's heart
Because sometimes you fear for unselfish reasons
Sometimes you fear for others
Sometimes you fear for something beyond yourself
If unprepared.  Prepare to meet thy doom; it is good exercise.
Know thyself.  It leaves your heart in freedom from fear.

And so many ancient heroes
Can be awakened and told "We're on the Moon"
Achilles, we are on the Moon!
Hercules, we are on the Moon!
Nero, we are on the Moon.
We are on the Moon.
List every famous man in history and issue a prayer
Of thanksgiving, understanding, to that soul,
Say, Man is on the Moon

We would have thought that had happened
When The Word was in carbon-inked newspapers around the World
It should have awakened all the dead!
It has not wakened all the dead yet.
There are sleeping dinosaurs
Even with vestigial traces of blood
Who don't know yet, or perhaps they do
That Man is on the Moon.
Oh, proud Man.  We are all on the Moon.
The World has the Moon.
The World knows what the Moon is.
It was not to be feared.
It never will be to be feared, not now.
It's just the Moon.

O Man, know thyself
Know what being on the Moon means
For all the souls who
Waited since the Dawn of Time

Postlogue
Now it is what? - four Jupiters, Saturn plus a Jupiter
Since Man was first on the Moon
Fifty years since Luna 2 crashed on the Moon in sixty two
Crashed though did not fear death; it is still there.
If another decade passes with relative Peace in the World
Two Saturns will have passed, and six Jupiters
Most of one Uranus
Neptune will be slowing its distance
Since things man-made were on the Moon
Someday, when three Plutos pass in time
Around 2770
Peace will be automatic
Until then, great care is essential
Horrendous weapons were made in case the Moon
Or Mars or other planets had monsters on them
Now the quick know there are no beings on the
Worlds apart from Earth, except Man put them.
Peace.

Innocent Innovation and the Long Path

Hoping to find the path to Terran normalcy now, after six thousand years of warlike struggle and nuclear conflict finally attained the Moon, the immense antiquity of that goal begins to make appear sometimes as if people want to devolve to early mammals, or wilderness primitives at best.  The danger is that we will not find the way to worldwide peace until civilization devolves too far, and either much time must pass before the serious errors are corrected, or some conflict like thermonuclear or biological war breaks out.  After all, the world cannot spend the entire next million years in war.   Recognizing that a solution is in principle possible makes war even more of a heartbreak than it ever seemed to be before it was known there are no space aliens on the Moon that require such weapons.

New discoveries of early human artifacts date back to 30,000 years and more.   They include the use of adhesives as glue, beads, arrows, poisons, rocks for anvils and rocks. ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-15565654 )

Some kinds of stone tools-hammer-stones, stone cores, and sharp stone flakes-date back over 2 million years. ( https://humanorigins.si.edu/evidence/behavior/tools )

People love to use tools to build their houses and furnish them.  That's one of the reasons the unashamedly more primitive Russians simply let the people devolve themselves back to what they wanted.  The results look like nothing so much as a native American neighborhood where cars are left to rust because they are in the natural order if they rust away where they stopped, and where houses often have ramshackle home made roofs and walls.  Urban codes at the present time are based on the assumption that only professional, trained builders are fit to build homes, and the homes look like it. They are grand, to be sure. But what keeps a population peaceful is building their own homes.

Since the space flights became successful, people in rural Russia settled back down onto their farms to enjoy the Moon, raise families and gardens or farms with livestock, practice some Pagan religious and so on.  Otherwise they are very quiet, much like rural life in the United States. American country neighborhoods are like that and it's not like what I'm suggesting it something new. Chinese neighborhoods are clearly in a state of change, what with people moving massively from farms to cities, and it is likely they will encounter the same problems we had as mechanized agriculture and constructions began in the 1900's.  The Chinese have recognized some of the immense new constructions are peculiar habitations for organisms as mobile and motivated as human beings are, though they too seem to have accepted the large city for the time being.

It seems unwitting, as we have been.  If humans beings were immobile like coral animals, unable to move and locked in their cells, they might live in the concrete city cubicles for millions of years.  No person who can walk out will remain in such cubicles for long.  Not for generations.  Americans tried, and had to move to suburbs.  Yet suburbs too have become a problem.  In suburbs people reside there and the best they can make of it is a neighborhood that never seems to be a village.  The neighborhood village seems to be a shopping mall, complete with acres of concrete and cars and no place in which to live.

I believe that now the a hand of millennia of dynastic approaches have finally met with success in attaining the Moon, governments both state and local could ease off and let their inhabitants choose their own ways of life more often, with as little government as possible at any one time. It does not seem to make crime rates increase, though it changes character and new issues emerge to be resolved, when populations begin the process of devolving the urban landscape to reflect what they choose of their own accord.  That happened in Seattle, which relaxed restrictions on keeping farm animals within the city limits.

Now, chickens and other animals are more often found on a walk.  Some new issues emerged, which had to be dealt with by the Federal Government.  Yet dealing with change is necessary in any case.  The question is whether the changes are scrutinized and correct decisions made in advance as they approach, or whether the outcomes are left to default because of too rigid adherence to regulations, laws and rules laid down in the past.  During a time of change, a boat cannot be steered past rocks far behind while it is approaching new turbulent waters at rocks downstream.  It is true in any season.  Walking across that stream in winter when it is iced over requires care.

It is folly to think of the last six thousand years as the only critical time associated with the flights to the Moon.  It is fundamental in nature that energies triggered by the vast changes which space flight unleashed, will be continuing to motivate change for the future six thousand years as well.  While it is a great relief to find the Moon and Earth from space, and know what they are, it was secular truth that was to be found,  Because it was found to be secular truth, it had always been inevitably to be found, yet that inevitability was never known for sure in the past, even in prehistoric times.  Secular truth, like religious truth and family truth, was known since ancient times, yet secular truth was only recently sanctioned with absolution when the Earth was seen from afar.

If cities are turned over to the people as if each person is a member of the government, the urban mall shopping centers will become  collective habitations perhaps like huge hogans, with residences as well as shops and stores, gardens and park-like green areas.  Already this is beginning to happen as shopping centers are built with apartments above them or along side although they do not yet coordinate that with green spaces, playgrounds and schools.  In some places such as Spain, planned communities have failed from the very start, an ominous thing for dinosaurs in architectural professions.

A million years hence, neighborhoods everywhere will have gone through a million years of stabilizing and not a single space alien will have reached Earth, nor will anyone have gone to the stars.  It's vitally important to assess and recognize and spread knowledge about the most likely, long term paths the world is likely to follow in the very long run.  Otherwise, it will take generations, and greatly increase the risk of war, before globally, the human character (that which the symbols, images, characters and words mean generation after generation) will stabilize.

Our governments and legislatures are good at that kind of thing. They can lead people to agreeably follow a well chosen long path. Most people in office have studied and worked with not only politics, but human history in the process as well. They only need to know there is a kind of long term doubt about the paths that will be found most enduring. It is not possible to say that a sidewalk adequately represents that kind of thing. The whole structure of society must be examined anew. I cannot possibly say what that will lead to.

Political leaders who have far-seeing visions of humanity's future and the world's future must present those ideas carefully to the people; they must not seem to demand urgency, but widespread, careful choice among the whole population. It means leading the people to a path which the people will follow themselves long after that leader is dead.  That is the kind of leadership that is sought, and dreamed, and murmured and simmering among the people.

Long-term Sober Alarm

The massive, huge concrete architectural work-the cities, highways, dams and other structures around the world may be taken as consequences of the orderly resolution of the nature of the Earth-Moon system, with its identification of the nature of the barycenter of that system.  It is the emergence of order in silicon, of course.  These structures are not only anticipated with a hope that they will exist for a very long time; they emerged exactly as a result of the resolution of the very long Galactic rotation. Their existence is a singular, temporal event in that geologically immense duration.

In other words, the cities, highways and dams emerged because of the attainment of the Moon, and their strong and durable forms will endure, continually existing on an appropriately vast span of time.  They are more than literally a sign that the Moon has been attained; they are a physical symptom of the new order of interplanetary exploration that will never be forgotten.  More than that, the next hundred million years will be entirely different from the last.  It will be impossible to escape the reminders, and impossible to avoid the change whatever it is.  Even so, it could be the only place human beings will live.

To any shrewd adapting species or even individual or family this has advantages.  To those cultures that may be unwary of the existence of such long term processes, it holds potentials for disasters large and small.  Losers will simply become poor and extinct.  Winners will become wealthy, and thrive to survive alive - on a million year time scale.  Moreover, the changes are immediate and taking place with every budgetary review, bond issue, new product and planned obsolescence.  The great changes taking place as a consequence of reaching the Moon are behind the success and failure of national economies. The changes are immense, and sometimes distinct to well advised legislators, business leaders, and other planners.

These facts are not a surprise to some, yet they underlie present economic difficulties more certainly than is often admitted.  It should have been described candidly to the public by economic planners attempting to make sense of the difficulties, for instance, with the Euro zone countries - especially Greece and Spain which have obvious historical difficulties accepting the depth of the implications of space flight.

The sudden success brought back with the Moon rocks also has implications for the colonization of the Western continents, for they are no longer required to be enforcers of the struggle to accomplish the Moon voyages which are past successes already.  If the Moon had not been attained, it is likely that the world would have already engaged in the Third World War and much of the world would be radioactive rubble.

The cities are thriving, and human beings are lovingly cultivating them, with a very just and deep aversion to being interrupted with any hint of another war, and that is a natural outcome of the world's success.  It was remarkable how attentive the entire world became when the first Apollo Astronauts were walking on the Moon. The entire human population was rapt, with an intensity that saturated the general concern for their local environments; they were engrossed with a global unity that is difficult to describe and it contained serious, determined responsibility for how the world is to be governed.  Now, people everywhere are turned away from war, and happy not to be interrupted by it as well as justly annoyed when reminded of it by those who profit from war.

It is time to mention, once in a while in budgetary events, that the economics of the new world have only somewhat to do with ancient traditional patterns of economic activity.  In the days of Old and New Kingdom Dynasties and their intervening hiatus, entire civilizations had to collapse and be left to future generations whenever a new principle was discovered that was not understood workably.  That's not happening now.
Modern practice is quick to peacefully, though aggressively, conduct and perform research programs to determine any new fact, event, or principle as soon as it is identified.  Each new economic activity is now, to an extent, tested for its long term value.

Even so, this could be improved by more candid mention of the difference between the vast future ahead, and the groping, ignorant and prehistoric past.  Ensuring that all members are given a sense of the very long futures which modern decisions may affect goes far to cause them to turn to the problem with an intention to strengthen the peace.  In the outcome, peace is far more important than it ever was before, and it can afford to be strong.

People are sick of war.  The whole world is tinged with regret at the magnitudes of war that were fought during the long development of whatever it would cost to reach the Moon.  In retrospect, though half a billion years of instinct drove the final thousands of years to attain that celestial disk and the struggle could not be avoided, it is becoming clear that none of the techniques that were successful in those flights, required killing anybody on Earth.  It did not require human or animal sacrifice, even if it was concealed or inveigled into the complex and intricate physical systems as an accident.

The systems used to get to the Moon were not merely an accommodation or arrangement with some god,  deity, or principle.  No sacrifice of life was actually necessary to reach the Moon, collect Moon rocks, and return alive to Earth unharmed-with the rocks.   Yet thousands of years of myth, superstition, ignorance and tyranny had convinced vast populations that human beings would inevitably find someone or some thing to fight against in the planets and stars.  It is not just a matter of "so far, none have been encountered."  The real though rare danger from falling rocks, which are meteors or asteroids, is used as a lynchpin to enforce convenient, ruthless and false ideas that space aliens are always just around the corner.

The Moon and Mars turned out to be the only places in the Solar System where human beings could stand (aside from dozens of moons so small as to be worthless as property).  Even Mars and the Moon have no significant air or water, despite the enthusiastic determination to hope for those elements essential to life.
There are NO places in the solar system where any living alien threat can exist.  Claiming that danger from space aliens among the planets, or nearly upon us from the stars,  in the hopes of drumming up more war profiteering is literally criminal.   It is irresponsible, tantamount to insane.  It is a product of the lucrative behind the scenes skullduggery collusion between the Military and Hollywood.

Consider the science fiction industry. It pumps out what in earlier days would have been hysterical propaganda accusing another human group of being monsters, demons and insane murderers.  Nowadays, subtle changes still depict false and amplified scenarios of human beings desperately fighting strange forces, monsters, aliens, Martians, and interstellar space craft.  These "thrilling" scenarios are almost plainly recruiting scenarios for was on the ground, at sea or in the air.  They are warmongering industries.  One of the Strangelove scenarios is lent as a prop to the Hollywood science fiction industry in a state recently troubled by outbreaks of "unexplainable" violence.  That prop prop is the North American Air Defence Command Headquarters in Cheyenne Mountain, a granite outcropping in the Rocky Mountain range that runs north
and south through several states.

Balancing a thermonuclear arsenal poised with the capability of annihilating Cairo, Paris, Beijing, Moscow and scores of other million-person cities, with the manufacture of speculative and fictional "extra"-terrestrial demonism in a nation that labels illegal immigrants as "aliens" describes the United States in a sad yet too accurate way.  The state in which those acts of "unexplainable" violence occurred is notorious for its hard line internal contradictions.  The Cheyenne Mountain combination of Hollywood near superstitious space fiction and nuclear armed Continental Defense industries is only one of  those contradictions.  There are more, in that state and others.

Here in Seattle, at the old Union Station rail depot, there is a twenty foot statue of the astonishingly barbaric, obscenely brutal ancient superstition god Anubis, the Egyptian Jackal God.  What in the name of human decency is that doing without at least some indication it is a human superstition and not an accurate representation of any actual living creature?

It is time to take a more responsible look at what the last six, maybe ten thousand years of armed warfare to reach the Moon has made of America and the rest of the world.
